DAY BEFORE THE COLONOSCOPY

Consume clear liquids all day. Do not drink milk or red colored liquids as this can interfere with the test. Acceptable clear liquids include clear soup, jello, coffee or tea without milk, fruit juice (no pulp), Gatorade, soft drinks, popsicles. No solid foods, milk products, or vegetables juice. Medicines should be taken on your regular schedule except for those discussed with your doctor.

SuPrep: Between 2 PM and 6 PM, pour one (1) 6 oz. bottle into the 16 oz cup & add water to the fill line. Drink the solution at a comfortable pace.

If you begin to feel nauseated, take a break and slow down the pace of drinking the solution. If your bottom becomes irritated, apply ointment such as Anusol or Desitin. After the preparation is consumed, continue to drink clear liquids (at least 16 oz) to avoid dehydration.
